The Maffey's Transformation

Main Bathroom Transformation

In this project we were focused on creating a timeless and opulent bathroom that balanced luxury with practicality. It was particularly important for the space to be future-proof to suit the needs of an elderly family member.

The transformation began with the removal of the existing bath, replaced by a spacious walk-in shower with a low-profile tray. This provides a safe, step-free entry, significantly improving accessibility and ease of use.

The design features large striking grey marble-effect tiles with delicate gold veining from Clay & Rock. Laid horizontally, these large-format tiles reduce grout lines for minimal maintenance and create a sleek, continuous look. The same tiles were used to tile the windowsill, ensuring the entire space is easy to clean and is cohesive.

Brushed brass brassware was used throughout to complement the gold accents in the marble tiles and adds a warm, sophisticated touch. In the shower, a beautiful Forma seat clad in mosaic marble pearl tiles doubles as a luxurious design feature and a functional seat for safe and comfortable showering.

The toilet installed is a comfort height model, designed to reduce strain on the knees and back, and the discrete niche beside it provides storage for toilet essentials, maintaining the clean lines of the room.

The floating vanity in charcoal adds contrast and depth, standing out against the neutral tones and brushed brass finishes. Above it, a backlit, soft-edged mirror perfectly matches the vanity’s width and includes adjustable lighting that shifts between cool and warm tones—adding ambience to the space.
