For the Davies’ main bathroom, they wanted to create a luxurious space that embraces the charm of their country-style home. To create a truly relaxing and indulgent space, a free-standing painted bath was placed on an oak platform, allowing for an uninterrupted view of the breathtaking Vale of Glamorgan countryside whilst soaking in the bath.
In keeping with the home’s traditional aesthetic, the design incorporates classic elements with a contemporary twist. A touch of color was introduced through the use of a dusty, blushed pink tone. This hue was applied to both the free-standing bathtub, framed vanity mirror and the curved vanity unit, ensuring a cohesive and elegant finish.
Through the lighting we were able to create a soothing atmosphere by installing lighting in the wall niche, vanity wall lights, and a striking pendant light positioned above the bath.
To add texture and visual interest, a feature wall behind the vanity was designed using the client’s chosen wallpaper, paired with soft grey hand-baked metro tiles that offer a subtle metallic sheen.
For a timeless and refined touch, a chrome traditional free-standing bath shower mixer was selected, reinforcing the classic country aesthetic. Every detail was meticulously considered to ensure a cohesive design, with all Rose Quartz elements carefully matched to create harmony throughout the space. The result is a stunning, tranquil retreat that combines traditional charm with modern elegance, offering the perfect setting for relaxation and indulgence.
Similarly to the main bathroom, the Davies' wanted their cloakroom to have a similar aesthetic to their main bathroom. So, we used the same fixture ranges from our trusted suppliers (Utopia and Thomas Crapper).
The design strikes a balance between traditional and modern elements, incorporating Shaker-style furniture as it is timeless. A sit-on Thomas Crapper basin added an elegant yet functional touch, reinforcing the period charm of the room. One of the client’s key requests was the inclusion of the iconic Thomas Crapper high-level cistern with a pull-chain flush finished in chrome to match the rest of the brassware. To further align with the main bathroom, we used the same hand-baked grey and silver metro tiles with a subtle metallic texture.
To add a touch of personality to the space, a feature wall was incorporated behind the vanity unit using the client’s selected wallpaper – a quirky newspaper-style print that brings an element of fun and individuality to the design.
This carefully curated cloakroom blends period authenticity with modern convenience, resulting in a refined yet characterful space that complements the overall home aesthetic.
